Warner Bros Home Entertainment has just released the very popular series The Alienist: Angel of Darkness on Blu-ray and DVD and it is one of the most interesting and binge-worthy series of recent note. The twists and turns and surprises along the way are a testament to the show and the quality of the writing, which I really enjoyed. I had never really watched the show until now and I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did.
The show revolves around a series of murders and features some great talent such as Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning. The entire “whodunit” approach to this series is something that is very lost nowadays and this brings it back in a good way. It will keep you guessing and the blend of great writing and performances makes this an easy watch and an interesting one.
It’s rare that a show hits every mark, but this one did, mixing mystery with good story-telling. I kept wanting to see where it went next. I highly recommend this.
