By Chris Summerfield

When it comes to horror I have always been a huge fan of Chucky, Puppet Masters and any other type doll movie, as they are obscure and in many ways different from the mainstream, so obviously I had to own this one…

The movie begins in, Tampa Florida, 5 years earlier to the main story.

It is a stormy dark night and Vincent Gotto (Lewis Van Bergen) is digging a shallow grave in a wooded area not far from the road, planning on burying his deceased son. Suddenly a patrol car passes and stops, the police officer becoming suspicious as he sees a blood stained towel in the car, he ventures in to the woods where he witnesses, Vincent, burying his child…

The following day a police squad along with forensic have sealed the scene and begin digging, unearthing more graves of dead children and a wooden marionette, made to be Pinocchio.

Present day… Attorney, Jennifer Garrick (Rosalind Allen) is defending, Vincent who is facing the death penalty, Jennifer wants to save him from the death penalty, however, Vincent wants to die, and wants to take the blame for the deaths of the other children the police unearthed, even though he did not kill them…

Jennifer as a daughter, Zoe Garrick (Brittney Alyse Smith) who seems to be a troubled young girl, Jennifer part blaming herself since splitting with Zoe’s father and her job being demanding and dealing with criminals. Therefore, Zoe is receiving counselling for her troubled nightmares and is believed to have repressed hostilities that seem to come bursting out of her in violent ways…

So when Zoe accidently stumbles across the wooden Pinocchio that Jennifer had within her car, destination the office, it seems Zoe becomes extremely attached to Pinocchio, a relationship that seems so strong and unbreakable, also unfortunate for anyone who crosses the two of them. Zoe’s arch enemy of the playground, Beth (Tara Hartman) is the first to suffer, a rake being pushed in to the front wheel of her bike, Beth therefore being thrown in front of a bus…

And as for the next to suffer in the hands of Zoe and Pinocchio is, David Kaminsky (Todd Allen), Jennifer’s boyfriend, who his hit in the face by the basement door as he climbs the steps and therefore tumbles down them.

And it isn’t too long until murder is committed…

Jennifer becomes increasingly worried about Zoe, and as the movie draws to a climax, being just like the beginning a stormy night, Jennifer returns home to find her nanny dead and after receiving a bump on her head, she begins a desperate fight for survival against Zoe or perhaps the Puppet…

So who is responsible for the killings? Is it the troubled girl? Is it the wooden Pinocchio that is possessed by a demon? As it seems only Zoe ever sees the doll talk or move, is it therefore all in her imagination and she is acting out these evil fantasies? Well one thing is for sure the doll, is creepy, as a haunting look about it and sure would freak anyone out.

I generally love this movie and highly recommended it and you can purchase it for only $6 to $8 on Amazon…
