NBC’s hit series “MANIFEST: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON” has just been released on DVD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, featuring 16 episodes. Oscar-winning filmmaker, Robert Zemeckis, MANIFEST became the #1 hit and for good reason.
The premise of the series is really interesting with Montego Air Flight 828, flying from Jamaica to New York City, experiencing some turbulence. When they land, they arrive five years later, leading to many changes to the personal lives of the passengers. There is also some other new things happening to the people that seem to guide them in this new journey and travel in time.
The cast in this series is tremendous, featuring Melissa Roxburgh as Michaela Stone, a NYPD Detective, John Dallas as Ben Stone, a professor, Athena Karkanis as Grace, Ben’s wife, J.R. Ramirez as Jared Vasquez, the former fiancé of Michaela when she disappeared and also a detective or the NYPD.
The show relies on mystery and character development and interaction and the writing is incredible and each episode flows into the next. I found the series very binge-worthy and that’s exactly what I did. This is easily one of the best series I’ve seen in recent years and it keeps you guessing.
Conflict with the characters, mystery all around and an ominous tone throughout, MANIFEST is an awesome series. I highly recommend it.
