Yeti: A Love Story (2006) – SASQUATCH HORROR MOVIE REVIEW

If a Sasquatch is involved, I will watch, but the beast has not always been portrayed well. When I read the synopsis to this that there is a “gay Yeti”, I could tell that this movie wasn’t going to be a horror movie, but it might be amusing. A gay rapist Yeti could be movie magic.

We begin with a cult that is worshipping the Yeti. They drag a guy to this wooded n bench and tie him down and then yank down his pants, preparing him for the Yeti. We then meet a group of college kids that are going camping. That’s when they meet some badly portrayed hick townspeople, using terms like “city slickers”. They were really annoying and overplaying the role. The theme of this movie really is that they are not taking any of it very seriously, which can be OK, but this film has little to nothing going for it, outside of a funny idea.

The group eventually comes face to face with the cult and witness the Yeti raping a man. Surprisingly, one of the college kids fall in love with the Yeti, and they become an item. It just gets more and more difficult to sit through and the gay Yeti joke gets old quick. The rest of the movie is so unfunny and weak. This film was really for the filmmakers…a group of friends that were just laughing at each other’s antics rather than make something good that all viewers would enjoy.

YETI: A LOVE STORY is a terribly unfunny movie. As much as I love the Yeti and Sasquatch movies, as well as micro budget films, I didn’t find any redeeming qualities with this. I think most people will chuckle at the idea of a gay Yeti, but other than that, there’s nothing. This film should have probably stayed within the group of friends. Stay away from this one people.

Rating: 1/10
