I do believe at some stage in our lives we occasionally make bad decisions, could be a career move that we later regret or perhaps a wrong choice of automobile or even a decision to buy property in a neighbourhood we later wished we hadn’t, however one thing is for sure, we didn’t pay for that mistake with our lives, not like the young folks in this movie, as they decide to take a wrong turn…
The Movie…
Supposed set in the Mountains of West Virginia…
Tailbacks after a chemical spillage means, Chris (Desmond Harrington) is going to be late for an interview, so decides on a u-turn, heading down a beaten track, and after meeting an unhelpful gas station owner, Chris decides upon heading along a dirt road that is displayed upon a map at the station, though while travelling along the dirt road he has an accident with a four wheel drive that is stationary in the road, having had its tires blown out from barbed wire that had been tied to trees, the Range Rover passengers being five young college kids, Jessie (Eliza Dushku), Scott (Jeremy Sisto), Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Evan (Kevin Zegers) and Francine (Lindy Booth). Though nobody is hurt in the accident, they soon I am sure wished they had died in the accident rather than what is waiting for them…
Evan and Francine decide upon staying behind with the vehicles while Chris and the others go for help…and we do not have to wait too long until Evan and Francine meets their grizzly end.
In the meantime Chris and the others come across a rundown house that apparently has vehicles abounded outside and like most of these types of movies they discover the owners are out and unwisely invite themselves in to the house. They soon discover things within the house that alarms them, however before they can make their escape the owners return, being three deformed people, Three fingers (Julian Richings), Saw-Tooth (Gerry Robbins) and One-eye (Ted Clark), all three of which are cannibals and ruthless killers, so therefore Chris and his party must hide, until the three antagonist have fallen sleep then attempt to sneak out and on doing so they disturb the three disfigured devils and therefore begins a battle of survival…
This movie, just like the other Wrong turn movies, is quite gory and is inventive when it comes to slaughter scenes that at times make you cringe. One particular scene in this movie stands out for me, being when the highway patrolman, who meets Chris on the dirt road, ends up with a arrow straight threw his eye coming out the other end…
Okay at times this movie is predictable and kind of has a, “Hills have eyes,” feel to it, I still kind of like this movie and have just gotten in to watching the other four again, it’s a franchise I actually don’t mind has they are gory, crazy and in some ways plain silly, though worthy of a watch.
