The Film Detective has once again remastered and put out a classic from the past with the Blu-Ray/DVD release “THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS,” which is now available. The Blu-ray features some great bonus material both on the disc but also with the presentation and booklet that is supplied with the release.  This is a collector’s edition for sure.

THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS is a very campy and fun film.  Gor, an evil alien, wants to dominate the entire universe and is well on his way to doing that but Arous has also sent down a good alien, Vol, to rescue the planet.

There’s a lot of strange stuff in this film, but it’s so enjoyable.  In a time of movies like INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS and THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, this film took a much less serious approach and went for strictly entertainment and it is very amusing.

THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS is presented in such a great way with this release.  The film itself is just a face-paced ridiculous fun movie that I highly recommend.   If you love sci-fi movies from the 1950’s, this is a must own.
