Dave Chappelle Sticks & Stones – Netflix Special Standup Comedy Review

I love Dave Chappelle and I have heard a lot of bad things about his new standup show on Netflix: DAVE CHAPPELLE: STICKS & STONES and I was happy to find out that everything was true and it was fucking hilarious.

Back in the day, THE CHAPPELLE SHOW was known for the unapologetic raunchy nature and it was very popular. I’m glad to see that, all these years later, Chappelle has not changed and I found myself laughing throughout the entire show. The bullshit that he was homophobic or racist during it is insane. The purpose of comedy is to push the limits and that’s exactly what he did.

Comedy is the last piece of truth left in this world and Chappelle brings it to the crowd and the viewers that subscribe to Netflix. He gives his thoughts on Michael Jackson and the pedophile allegations, drugs, R. Kelly, the Kevin Hart Oscar/Twitter controversy and more.

The more I watched the special, the more I realized just how much I missed real comedy. I was a big fan of George Carlin and Richard Pryor and to see Chappelle use the same approach without apology and going with what he thinks is funny rather than worrying about the feedback from all the people eager to be offended by anything and those that are ready to be offended because they’ve been told that they should be offended. This is comedy and this is the direction where we should go.

DAVE CHAPPELLE: STICKS & STONES is hilarious. I loved it. Chappelle is so great and I would love to see his show return. For now, I will just enjoy the fact that he’s back with this standup and I died throughout the entire program. He is just as funny as he ever was.
