(Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this blog post.  The opinions I share are my own.)

On September 22nd, DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON will be released on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, and as a fan of the show, it’s great to see it hit Blu-ray and other mediums for release. Season five was another great season in the series with lots of character, humor and action, setting it apart from many other shows of the like that have been aired.

Any time there is a group of misfits that find their place in life, it’s a feel good thing and it is on full display in this season as the Legends find themselves no longer the outcasts they once were.  They fall into a near celebrity status, earning the respect of society from their heroism in the prior season.

With the newfound fame hitting each member, they react in different ways.  Some welcome it and allow their egos to flourish, while others prefer to be on the fringes, away from the spotlight.  The differences in how they deal with this starts to break up the team enough for some bad guys to resurface and have enough of an opening to create total chaos.

As much as I like the storyline that goes throughout the series and through season five, the fun factor is what makes this series so great.  You can tell that the cast is having a great time and there doesn’t seem to be any handcuffs on what they can do.  Anything goes and I didn’t expect to be so amused by anything superhero related outside of Deadpool.

The new realities and new timeline missions are done in such a humorous way.  There are just little things here and there that prove to be the perfect touch to an episode.  There’s always something that stands out.

DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW is exactly what you think it is if you have watched the other seasons.  We get plenty of laughs and chuckles and some great special effects.   The writing is witty and there is just the level of fun that makes the show a standout.   As a fan, I can’t recommend it enough.
