It’s happening at the street corners, at the water fountain and in many homes.  The debate over the big upcoming sporting events is dictating the debate and it travels over the entire sports world with many events on the horizon, each of which having mobs of fans eager to see how the events will turn out.

The Cricket World Cup has started, taking place from January 17th through February 9th, and the debates have escalated with many fans going to the casinos and putting down some money on their favorite teams to win.  Online Cricket betting has been a much bigger draw than the casinos because of the convenience of it.  Fans get to sit at home and put down some cash on their team and make the game that much more interesting.

With Cricket in full swing, we also see the fans turn to the biggest game in the states, Football.  The San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Superbowl LIV on February 2nd and it’s been a long road for both teams.  Being a New Englander, the New England Patriots were all the talk with their undefeated initial run, bringing reminders back to their past run, but they would lose and be eliminated and now two teams remain and those around me must wait for next season to see their team compete again.  In the meantime, they will sit back and watch one of the biggest spectacles in sports, which brings the musical acts and commercials that the Superbowl is known for.

When it comes to spectacles, there may have been none bigger than the 2017 match between boxing’s best, Floyd Mayweather, JR., and the best UFC had to offer in Conor McGregor, in a pay per view that smashed all records.  The fight was more competitive than many thought it would be with McGregor stepping into a boxing ring where his feet and choke outs were not going to be a factor.  Mayweather, JR., was able to survive an early storm and use his boxing experience to outlast his MMA opponent, but now there is talk of a serious rematch.

With a tease that McGregor would take on Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, JR., has been flushed out and has shown interest in facing Conor in a rematch that would generate a lot of money for both men, again.   Considering that McGregor won his last bout in the UFC in 40 seconds and Floyd has been on the shelf for quite a while, the speculation begins again and the chances of the Irish MMA warrior get better by the minute.  Time is on his side.

Another notable event coming up is the heavyweight title fight between defending WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder and former heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, in a highly-anticipated rematch on February 22nd.  This is another fight that has generated a lot of debate and the styles make the fight that could go either way.  Expect a large and rowdy crowd that night.

The sports world has a lot to offer the fans in the upcoming months and the year 2020.  The debate will continue and the betting across the board will continue as the fans put their money where their mouths are to prove that their team is the one that will come out on top.
