Wardlow VS Jake Hager & Jon Moxley Speaks – Former AEW Champion is Back – New Year’s Smash: AEW Dynamite (1/6) – Live Results & Pro Wrestling News

Jon Moxley comes to the ring to talk about his loss to Kenny Omega and the loss of the AEW heavyweight title.  He notes that Don Callis looks like a used car salesman and says that he has a zero tolerance policy for assholes.   He vows to get even with Omega but vows not to interfere in his title defense against Rey Fenix later in the evening.

It’s nice to see a crowd, even a small one, at the event.  Sporting events need crowds.  Chuck Taylor and Miro agree to meet in a match next week and should Taylor lose, he will become Miro’s servant, basically, until the Kip Sabian – Penelope Ford wedding.  Miro is so funny.  His personality keeps coming out.

Wardlow versus Jake Hager is on with the rest of the Inner Circle watching on.  The match is brutal with both men giving their all and one slight botch when Wardlow tried a leap frog and Hager was too tall and got some Wardlow ass on the top of the head.  Hager seemed ok and I’m sure Wardlow has a bruise.

Wardlow is showing his strength, tossing Hager around like a rag doll. It’s pretty crazy stuff.   He goes for the F10 but Hager escapes it and hits a series of clotheslines.  He gets Wardlow into the ankle lock submission but gets kicked in the face and it really looked like it hurt.

Wardlow hits the F10 and gets the 3 count!  What a shocker.    That is the first clean loss for Hager in AEW.   He is not happy about the defeat but congratulates his fellow Inner Circle member, Wardlow, on his victory.

Matt Hardy and Private Party are backstage and signing a contract to work with each other as Snoop Dogg stands there awkwardly.  I’m not a big fan of Hardy the heel-ish manager.  Hopefully he gets Broken sooner than later.
