On September 8th, WE BARE BEARS THE MOVIE comes to DVD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. I knew very little about this film, but I knew that the bears were quite popular and I got the chance to watch it with my 10-year-old daughter and it was incredibly amusing.
Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear are three friends that consider themselves brothers and are living a normal human life…for bears. They do unintentionally cause a lot of trouble. At one point, they ride a scooter through the city and knock a pizza over a wedding party. When the group of people they hurt show up to confront them, I found it hilarious that the groom was sobbing while the wife was consoling him and reprimanding the bear.
When the bears do a hacking broadcast of their antics, they burn up everyone’s cell phones and television, prompting Agent Trout to declare war on them. The bears go on the run to Canada but Trout is on their tail. The three bears can’t seem to agree on what to do. Grizz and Panda are arguing over the long way and the highway while Ice Bear is relatively quiet.
The bears break down and stumble across a party full of internet celebrity animals, which was pretty amusing. Almost every trending animal was covered, including the crab with the knife. Trout shows up with his goons and they are on the run again, leading to a final showdown at the Canadian border and a lot of bear action.
WE BARE BEARS THE MOVIE is really good. It was very funny and the characters were great across the board. I highly recommend it.
