Vlad Panin, 8-1, 4 KO’s, was able to outpoint Benjamin Whitaker, 13-4, 3 KO’s, over six rounds by scores of 57-57 and 58-56 (twice). In the opening rounds, Panin controlled the fight, using his reach and power to control. In round four, Whitaker started to land his shots and doing more than Panin to win the rounds. The fight could easily be a draw, but Panin winning is a fair call. He seemed to do more damage with his punches.
