On March 10th, THE ADVENTURES OF A.R.I: MY ROBOT FRIEND is being released on DVD from Lionsgate, bringing the popular topic of robots to a kid’s movie with enough going on to keep the adults interested as well.
Noah (Jude Manley) is your typical teen, staying home and gaming on the computer most of the time. His father, Peter (J.R. Brown), works at a tech company and doesn’t have any time for his family. When he tries to make an attempt to sit down with Noah and watch a film, he is called in for an urgent matter. Taking Noah along, Peter gets busy with his work, leaving his son to roam. The roaming leads to finding a robot ready to be destroyed, but he is saved.
A.R.I.-9 is a dead robot, or so Noah thought, and he brought him home to stop the destruction. He brings the A.R.I. into his room and it comes to life and starts learning quickly, much like the robot in SHORT CIRCUIT. It needs information and Noah is hiding him but also bringing him places where he can learn. Unfortunately, the A.R.I. has two sides and one side is as a weapon, which he encounters along with his friend, Bethany (Sophia Alongi).
With the company and military seeking to claim the robot, Noah and Bethany try desperately to protect him and keep him alive and away from those that want to dismantle him. THE ADVENTURES OF A.R.I: MY ROBOT FRIEND is a film that youngsters should really enjoy. It’s catered to adults more than kids, for sure, but it’s not that bad if you want something to watch with your little ones.
