New Englanders love the Red Sox and being from Massachusetts, it’s a regular occurrence to see half the guys walking around sporting a hat or shirt supporting their favorite baseball team. They love the team and they love them even more when they win the World Series and in 2018, they had quite the run that led to a franchise record of 108 wins, including a victory over their biggest rival, the New York Yankees. So, if you are a New Englander and you sit there with your Red Sox hat, jersey and coffee mug, you’re going to really dig a Blu-ray set that came out from Shout! on December 4th: “THE 2018 WORLD SERIES – THE OFFICIAL DOCUMENTARY FROM MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL .”
The picture quality of this Blu-ray is tremendous, and it does a great job at recreating the excitement of the 2018 year. Going more into the behind the scenes activities, including the take no prisoners approach of Alex Cora, the relatively inexperienced manager.
The documentary also shows the journey to the World Series and the trial that they had to go through in order to defeat the Dodgers in a hotly contested series that had ebbs and flows and tremendous suspense. Considering that I’m not a huge fan of the sport and that I don’t own any Red Sox T shirts, I have to say that I really enjoyed this documentary. The pacing was great and it really presented it in a way that would appeal to the die-hard fan and the casual fan of the sport.
