Today, Super Whatevr have shared a brand new song, “better.” Fans can watch the music video now via the Hopeless Records YouTube channel: smarturl.it/
The song and video marks a new page and the beginning of a different era for Super Whatevr. Following the release of their debut album Never Nothing, vocalist and guitarist Skyler McKee went into a deep period of reflection, research, and re-branding. “better” is the start of what is to come.
Last week, the band announced a new website and included an interactive connect-the-dots feature to tease the artwork and song name. They also launched a community number (1-714-709-2472) where fans could call and hear an exclusive clip of “better.” The number will continue to be used to communicate with fans and allow them to interact with the band in the future, so fans and the like should write it down and continue calling.
Following the release of Never Nothing, which Rocksound called, “a hugely captivating debut”, the band embarked on extensive North American tours, including runs with Waterparks, The Wonder Years, and a co-headlining tour with King Shelter, as well as a spot on last year’s Riot Fest lineup.
Super Whatevr originally began as a vehicle for lead vocalist and guitarist Skyler McKee’s poetry. He started studying the craft of songwriting with the help of a friend and penning songs of his own. While the songs come from a dark place, they’re a reflection of a glimmer of hope amidst life’s struggles. The band has officially welcomed drummer Chase Vernon.
This fall, Super Whatevr will be performing intimate shows that will take place in Los Angeles, CA on November 7 at The Paramount and Brooklyn, NY on November 14 at Zone One at Elsewhere. Tickets will go on sale Friday, August 30 at 10am local time.
