Lionsgate has released SUMMERTIME DROPOUTS on DVD, Digital and On Demand and it was a surprisingly enjoyable film. Six friends playing punk music and growing together become a pleasant watch, even if it might not present as much conflict as many would like to see. This is just an honest look at friendship and chasing dreams with the support of a group of friends.
It’s obvious that this film was made to push the idea of hope and happiness, an answer to the negativity that the media puts out with regularity. Despite the film having noticeable lags during it, the message was very good and needed in this time and the cast was very believable.
Anyone that has been a part of a group of friends, growing up and seeing the sky as the limit as they chase their hopes and dreams will really like this one. It’s a relatable drama that does a lot of things right. I recommend this one.
