A ski resort seems harmless, doesn’t it? I mean, you will have your occasional skier crash into a tree or run over some young children on the bunny hill, but there is another danger out there, known as the: Snowbeast.
Many doubt the existence of the Sasquatch or Yeti, but this movie asks: What if? What if there was a Yeti and he didn’t take shit, and wasn’t fond of people? Well, with a ski resort with a busy weekend and tons of people, the Snowbeast is having a field day, killing people left and right, and considering that this movie was made for television, it is a great effort. Why don’t they make “made for T.V. movies” like this anymore?
Prior to the carnage, one man, the grandson of the owner of the ski resort realizes that the crazy Yeti is on the loose and pissed off. To make sure that the old woman understands what he’s saying, he screams…perhaps she had a crappy hearing aid and he needed to yell. Whatever the case, the grandson, played by Robert Logan, stole the show with his rants and raves. He stole the show as far as humans went that is. The Snowbeast is the star here.
This film really went with the ‘less is more’ approach, not showing the full Snowbeast until the very end. Sure you saw his arm here and a big foot here and there, but you don’t get to see him in his entirety until the last twenty minutes. It is really great when there is a big celebration in a gymnasium and that mischievous Yeti crashes the party. He is first spotted staring through the window. It’s bad enough that he’s killing people, but he is a peeping Tom too? Sick.
I highly recommend this movie. You can pick it up for somewhere between 6 and 10 bucks in a four pack of movies or a 10 pack of movies, or even a 50 pack of movies. It’s everywhere…just go to the horror section of your Best Buy and look in the horror section. This is a lot of bang for your buck.
