With the tenth anniversary of Scaredstiffreviews this year and of course Halloween approaching, I decided it was time to throw in a review or two, in which are favourites of mine, and yes been reviewed before, but hey good movies deserve more than one review. And of course Rise of the Scarecrows is one of my favourite low budget indie movies and does deserve a short sharp second review. The film was created by Geno McGahee, and is a movie filled with interesting and dark characters, most of which are dysfunctional and dangerous therefore adding spice to pretty tensed film…
Rise of the Scarecrows
The town of Adams, is the setting for this dark, demon horror, in which the focus is upon the struggling community that is desperate to hide its dark disturbing secret from anybody who ventures in to town, the man who supposed to be responsible for law and order being Sheriff Howard (Cedric Howard) seems to know more than appears regards disappearances of travellers and locals though is eager to keep the information classified and he also as the responsibility to make sure the locals tow-the-line regards keeping the secret from others.
Officer Brown (Anthony Brown) as recently joined the sheriff’s team. Brown who is seeking a fresh start after leaving the city begins to realise this community is divided with fear and loyalty for the sheriff then as the body count mounts answers are sought, but is he ready for the terrifying truth?
Brown with his unlikely allies, wide eyed boy Carlos (Steven Joseph Adams) and his friend Bill (Jeremy Weiskotten) decide to uncover the truth… A bloody battle is ahead against demonic scarecrows that are on a rampage…
This is a great Halloween movie, so if you have not seen it yet and enjoy indie horror, give it ago as you will not be disappointed.
