The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced its 2013 lineup and is slated to screen Scott Schirmer’s FOUND, October 6 at 7:45 p.m. It will be the final film screened at the festival.

The film, co-written and directed by Scott Schirmer on a shoestring budget of just $8,000, follows a young boy who struggles to understand the world around him—especially when he discovers that his older brother is a serial killer. Gavin Brown, who plays the young boy, and Ethan Philbeck, who plays his older brother, turn in bold performances. The cast also includes Phyllis Munro and Louie Lawless as their mother and father, respectively.

A trailer for the film, in addition to tickets for its showing at Shriekfest, are available at www.shriekfest.com.

In addition to FOUND, Shriekfest will screen nine other features, including the fun- and fright-filled DEVIL IN MY RIDE (featuring Sid Haig), the UK’s JUDAS GHOST, the terrifying ABDUCTED, the exploration of extreme horror AN AMERICAN TERROR, the sci-fi thriller 95ERS: ECHOES, the horrifying MALIGNANT, the horror-comedy THE SHOWER, the slasher film HAZMAT and the thriller THE LAST LIGHT.

In addition to the 10 features, 34 outstanding and diverse international short films from 7 countries will also screen. Themes and topics include horror, comedy, suspense, science-fiction, ghosts, vampires, maniacs and even a Sasquatch!

The Shriekfest Film Festival runs October 3 – 6, 2013. An opening night party will take place at Boardners/Club B52 in Hollywood; the rest of the festival will be at the iconic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Blvd.

Shriekfest, now in its “lucky” thirteenth year, was created in July 2001 by Denise Gossett and has grown into the longest-running and one of the largest horror and sci-fi film festivals in the country. Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
