The Horror On Sea film festival wrapped up on January 25th with Geno McGahee’s anthology “SCARY TALES” headlining the night in a double header. Over 200 horror fans filled the White Bus Cinema in Southend-on-sea, Essex, in the UK.
Festival Director Paul Cotgrove had the following to say about SCARY TALES:
“Scary Tales deserves its rightful place amongst the classic Horror anthology films. A real crowd pleaser at the Horror-on-Sea Film Festival 2013.”
SCARY TALES is currently seeking distribution and with its placement at the various film festivals it entered along with the “Official Selection” distinction at Horror On Sea, a deal will be coming soon. Filmmaker Geno McGahee noted that he is “considering several distributors, but nothing is set in stone as of yet.”
Synopsis
When four friends reunite at a remote cabin, they share some campfire stories, but the line between fantasy and reality soon gets blurred and the unexplainable begins to occur. Secrets get revealed and the stories come to life, turning nightmares into reality. Five tales, featuring twists and turns, zombies and ghosts, werewolves and demons, and more, create madness and horror in this anthology.
The friends share their stories in the cabin… THE BULLY features a man that is used to getting his way through force, but will soon encounter someone or something that will stand up to him. CURIOSITY KILLS sees Amber and Mike, on the run after a tragedy, only to stumble across a house and a family with plenty of secrets. MAJORITY RULES is about a crooked card game that leads to murder and then leads to something far worse. Personal demons take life and the zombies come knocking. THE BRIDGE is a ghost story that one student wants to prove is mere town legend. He soon discovers the reason why they insist that he stays away from the “Devil’s Bridge.”
SCARY TALES is a throwback to CREEPSHOW and TALES FROM THE CRYPT, featuring gritty and atmospheric horror stories sure to terrify the viewers.
