Super bantamweight, Hector Valdez, 12-0, 8 KO’s, used consistent pressure and body work to stop the tough and game, Luis Rios, 25-6-1, 17 KO’s, with a left hook to the body in round three. From the opening bell, Valdez was trying to cut off the ring and trap Rios who was moving and landing some good punches in return.
In round two, Valdez turned up the body attack and it visibly slowed down Rios. In round three, a left hook to the body would drop Rios for the count and give Valdez a well-earned victory.
