A tall daunting, house, becomes the setting for this creepy horror movie that still can send a chill down your spine…

Begins with the father, Sam Baker (Alain Smith) calling out for his daughter, Henrietta (Baker Kirsten Fougerousse) A creepy circus music plays out, comes from the basement where he discovers a murdered cat, Henrietta holding on to a pair of scissors that are soaked in blood… He locks her within the basement, leaving her with a creepy clown doll for company.

Sam, upset with her behaviour confronts his wife, expressing his concerns, the creepy circus music returns and strange things seem to happen; could it be the mind playing tricks or is something coming for them? Sam is murdered, his head split open with a axe, moments later his wife dies; her death, the mirror shatters, slashing her face to bits, before she has her throat slashed….

Twenty Years later…

Paul (Greg Scott) as concerns after hearing a distress message that is being frequently broadcasted, and along with his partner, Martha (Lara Wendel) they decide to investigate it, having a tracking devise within his computer. They manage to track the frequency down to the house where the Baker’s were murdered.

They enter the house, to find it empty, however discover the transmitter they had been seeking within the upstairs, the radio belonging to Jim (Martin Jay) who confronts them within the house, Jim staying nearby within his camper van along with his sister and friends, denying he had made the recording even though it is his voice… Something strange is happening within this house and Martha is the first to witness strange behaviour as she wonders around after hearing that haunting music and for a brief moment begins to witness strange behaviour that alarms her…

Tina (Kate Silver) the sister of Jim is the next to suffer, she witnesses a vision of Henrietta and the clown upon a television set within the camper van and after it fades the camper van begins to rock… In the meantime Jim and his friend, Mark (Ron Houck) are within the house when they hear the creepy music, Jim goes to investigate, and as he does he witnesses a vision of Henrietta and that clown, moments later a blade breaks from a fan that is spinning and slashes his throat, Tina finds his body, screaming, the whole incident sounding like the recording that they had heard a day before. A deranged Valkos, (Donald O Brian) supposed caretaker, suddenly attacks, Tina and Mark, but escapes before, Paul and Martha arrive…
This is a pretty good movie, as nice pace and plenty of mystery about it, and at times is gory and like mentioned before is also creepy… One scene stands out is when the clown doll seems to take a life of its own and attacks Martha.

So who is doing the killings? Possible the deranged Valkos or perhaps the spirit of Henrietta, or just perhaps the demon doll clown…

Rating: 8/10

  1. I totally agree. I love this film! People often compare it to Poltergeist but I think it’s much scarier. The scene you mentioned where the clown jumps up scares the hell out of me!

    Great Great Great Review!
