Have you ever gone to see a movie that you thought was going to be terrible and it turned out to be awesome? You go from mildly depressed walking into the theater, to acting out parts of the movie with your friends as you leave, because of your excitement. What a great feeling! Sometimes just the name of a movie can create a false sense of what the story is about and you’ve subconsciously said to yourself…this is going to suck, but then after watching it, it doesn’t. Well “Community College” is just such a movie EXEPT for one detail. It really does sucks!
This movie is an assault on any intelligent movie viewer. There is a story mixed into all the vulgarity and sexual references I’m sure, but try finding it. I dare you! I tired of all the dimwit humor and unnecessary stupidity. The writing was about as weak as a coma patient, but much less interesting to watch. The story goes something like this: A bunch of drunk college kids get to drink for free at a bar, but when the bar is going to close they are shocked and saddened. I guess they are not business majors. They hatch a crazy plan to actually finish college so they can get a windfall of graduation money and keep the bar open. In comparison, Beavis and Butthead would rise to the head of this class! I said “head” and “rise”…huh-huh. Will they be able to save their precious bar or are they just too drunk and stupid?
There is a cameo of Rich Cronin, former member of boy group LFO. Cronin sadly passed away in 2010 from Leukemia, so if you are an LFO fan you can see him show up on screen for a few minutes. Nice tribute on the disc to him also. Aside from that save your cash and buy something useful like a helium balloon. At least if you waste money on a helium balloon you get a few minutes of enjoyment watching it float away, enjoyment you will not get from this movie.
