Combate Americas today announced its return to Los Angeles with another stellar Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) live event that will be headlined by a strawweight (115 pounds) showdown between undefeated knockout artist Melissa “Super Mely” Martinez (5-0) and Caroline “Taz” Gallardo (3-2) at Galen Center on Friday, April 26.

The 21-year-old Martinez of Mexico City, Mexico has been an unstoppable force in her first five professional MMA starts to date, notching all but one of her victories by way of (T)KO inside of two rounds, with her Muay Thai-based striking power.
Fighting out of Chicago, Ill., Gallardo is a 22-year-old native of Santiago, Chile looking for her fourth consecutive win since she submitted Alejandra Orozco with an armbar in the first round (2:41) of their matchup last August 18.
In a featured strawweight contest announced today, 24-year-old, former Eddie Bravo protégé and submission specialist Kyra “Mogwai” Batara (7-4) of Las Vegas, Nev. will make her long-awaited return to action against former The Ultimate Fighter reality television series contestant Angela “Your Majesty’ Magaña (11-10) of San Juan, P.R.
Also announced today as participating competitors for the Combate Americas event were former world champion and flyweight (125 pounds) superstar Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto of Madera, Calif.; lightweight (155 pounds) rising star Erick “The Ghost Pepper” Gonzalez (8-3) of Redondo Beach, Calif.; explosive featherweight (145 pounds) Jose “Froggy” Estrada of Oxnard, Calif.; and atomweight (105 pounds) scrapper Paulina “Firefox” Granados of San Diego, Calif., all of whom will face opponents to be announced soon.
In undercard action announced today, undefeated Charisa Sigala (4-0) will collide with Francis “Hitgirl” Hernandez (2-2) in another strawweight contest, while unbeaten Yasmine Jauregui (1-0) of Tijuana, B.C., Mexico will face off with Daniela Espinosa (0-0) of Lake Forest, Calif.

Doors at Galen Center will open for “Combate Americas: Reinas del Combate” at 6 p.m. local time, and the first preliminary bout will begin at 7 p.m.
