Strength
Within the Major Arcana, the Strength card speaks of virility, the belief in oneself, soft dominance and compassion. In the traditional deck, we see a woman with the infinity symbol over her head handling a lion as if it were a kitten. She has zero fear and unlimited strength within her. The lion, like everyone she encounters, is taken in by the calming security she provides.
Currently, you may be feeling as if all of your strength has been drained. The world is hitting back pretty hard and as the cold winter months set in, depression and insecurity are felt by many. This card is a reminder that those factors take nothing away from your strength and instead are a reflection of it. You’re tired and things are hard now, but you are just as strong as ever. You’re not giving up despite wanting to, but that’s because you’ve never taken the easy way out. No one has ever made things easy for you so you’ve had to take on a lot. You are the go-to person for everyone’s problems because of the power and control your essence and temperament conveys. People aren’t as sympathetic to you as they should be. In their minds, they think you can handle it. They see your soft side, but it is your perseverance and pragmatism that they are responding to. They know you can handle anything and so those in your life with problems, keep piling things on you.
The instinct just to pull the covers over your head and wait for spring is a tough one to fight, especially when loved ones refuse you the compassion you freely give to them. Once again, the burden falls to you. Just know, you got this and things will get better.
You sometimes confuse emotionality with weakness. You feel less than when the world gets you down, but it’s actually the opposite. You are strong enough to confront your feelings and deal with them. You admit the pain and as raw as it gets, you still fight. You fight to be well. Keep fighting.
It is also significant that the strength card depicts a woman. This is in regards to the importance of women in your life. Regardless of your gender or identity, surround yourself with positive female energy. Whether it is your spouse, your best friend, your sister or other close loved ones – you need that feminine aura right now. Their nurturing strength will provide you with the compassion that your world is lacking. Hold on to them and they will flow light into you restoring your energy while helping you see that you are as strong and resilient as ever.
