“Hi I’m Chucky and I’m your friend till the end”

So the 1980’s we had established horror serial killers such as, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddie Krueger, all that were slaughtering their way through movie after movie and each time they had somehow been stopped they miraculously would find their way back for another movie, well by the late eighties we would be introduced to the mini terror known as, Chucky and this movie would be the beginning of a successful movie franchise, that spans for six movies, the Curse of Chucky being the latest.

Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) the notorious “Lakeshore Strangler” has to seek refuge in a toy store after his driver, Eddie Caputo (Neil Giuntoli) deserts him when spotting detectives closing in on them. One of the detective’s, Mike Norris (Chris Sarandon) is in pursuit and manages to fatally wound Charles, though Charles being angry and desperate to return for revenge performs a voodoo spell that enables his spirit to enter that of a Good guy doll…

We are then introduced to a sweet young boy, Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) his birthday is here and Andy is a huge fan of the, Good guy dolls and wishes for one, though they are expensive and his Mom, Karen Barclay (Catherine Hicks), who being a single parent finds her finance restricted, however thanks to, Maggie Peterson (Dinah Manoff), Karen’s best friend she informs her that a street trader is selling a, Good guy doll and therefore Karen, buys it from him for $30.00.

$30.00 is a great price to pay for a good guy doll… Or is it?

Karen, who has to work until late, leaves Andy in the hands of her friend Maggie. And I am sure Andy would be no trouble as he does have his new friend Chucky!

Then strange things begin to happen, in which a build up of tension mounts, Maggie sure spooked, though unaware that somebody or something is closing in on her to make his first of many kills…

Detective Mike Norris, is the guy who is on the case after it seems Maggie plunges from the apartment window, however there is evidence of foul play, poor Andy being a possible suspect, though he informs the detective and his Mom that Chucky is responsible, as if anybody would believe?

Andy soon becomes controlled by Chucky who hunts down, Eddie with the help of Andy and therefore gains his revenge.

Andy now in police custody pleads with his Mom telling her Chucky did it, informing her he is bad…

And one of my favourite scenes in this movie is when; Karen discovers no batteries within the doll even though it has been talking…

And as the movie begins to climax, it becomes apparent that Chucky desperately needs Andy, while Detective Norris and Karen are desperate to get to Chucky before he does strike…

Now as you are fully aware I am a huge fan of Killer doll movies and yes, Chucky to me is at the top of the stack, seriously one small, bad ass doll, I do hope you have watched this movie…
