One of the worst things in the UK is having a referee play the judge as well and 90% of the time, they will favor the UK fighter so they won’t be killed when they leave the arena. Son of Ricky Hatton, Campbell Hatton, 4-0, won a ref’s decision over Sonni Martinez, 2-5, in a very close fight by the score of 58-57.
Even though the fight was close, Martinez seemed to be the one that did the most damage, but Hatton was the name and he will be protected. Only in boxing does such things happen and foreseeable things. Once I saw the referee was judging, it was easy to pick the winner.
