Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has just released BATMAN YEAR ONE: COMMEMORATIVE EDITION on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital, showcasing the film on its 10 year anniversary.

The animated film is very close to the comic, staying very true to the source material. There are two stories going on. Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham and it coincides with Lieutenant Gordan transferring to Gotham. These two stories happen side by side and then connect and that is when the film really kicks into high gear.
Wayne finds the need to become Batman and this film focuses on a realistic approach, well before any of his toys that he is so well known for. This is a drama with some action elements, but it’s for Batman fans that want to see the foundation that led to such films at THE DARK KNIGHT. This is one of best animated films in the DC Universe and I really enjoyed it. The HD presentation is amazing. The audio and visuals are captivating and this is a must own for any Batman fan.

Frank Miller’s next seminal work would provide his near-mythic origin in “Batman: Year One.” This documentary spotlights the contemporary genius of Miller and the audience that was poised to appreciate the depths of his work.
- DC Showcase – Catwoman (2011 Animated Short) – The felonious feline’s adventure takes her through the seedy streets of Gotham City. Eliza Dushku reprises her Batman: Year Onerole as the voice of Catwoman. The short is directed by Lauren Montgomery (Batman: Year One) from a script by Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series).
