Middleweight Nikita “White Chocolate” Ababiy, 10-0, 6 KO’s, didn’t look spectacular, taking the unanimous six round decision over Brandon Maddox, 7-4-1, 5 KO’s, by scores of 59-55 across the board.
Maddox won the first round, using his jab and distance. He showed that Ababiy was a sucker for a right cross because it landed with great regularity. The body work of Ababiy was the story in rounds two, three and four, but in round five, Maddox seemed to find his footing again. In round six, it was close. I had it a draw at 57-57, but it seemed like White Chocolate wanted the win more.
