In a junior welterweight war, Arnold Barboza, JR., 25-0, 10 KO’s, survived a knockdown to take the unanimous decision win over Alex Saucedo, 30-2, 19 KO’s, by scores of 96-93 and 97-92 (twice).
Barboza, JR., stood up to some heavy incoming shots to maintain his composure and use his superior skill and combinations to earn the decision win. In the seventh round, he was dropped with a left hook, but Saucedo could not follow up and went back into the same mode that he was in for the majority of the fight. He kept following Barboza, JR., around the ring and was getting outworked.
The two feuding warriors congratulated each other on a great fight and it was just that.
