Brandon Figueroa, 20-0-1, 15 KO’s, started out strong, winning the early rounds against Julio Ceja, 32-4-1, 28 KO’s, but when the middle rounds hit, the pressure of Ceja was the difference and the tide turned.
The fight was just a brawl with a huge punch count with both guys landing with regularity, leading to the split decision draw by scores of 115-113 (Figuerora), 116-112 (Ceja) and 114-114 even. In a world of controversial decisions, this one wasn’t too bad. This was about as even as it got.
