Niagara’s Most Haunted by Peter Sacco – Horror Book Review

When most people think of Niagara they think of Honeymoons at Niagara Falls and fun trips on a boat to the base of the falls. Maybe you think of the Three Stooges. Beautiful scenery abounds here but there is a dark side to Niagara too. Niagara is considered one of the most haunted places in the world. There have been bloody battles fought in Niagara during the War of 1812 among many other tragic events. What place could be more ripe for a good old fashioned haunting than Niagara?

In author Peter Sacco’s book “Haunted Niagara” he discusses many of the hauntings witnessed over the years in the Niagara region of Canada. He tells of furniture floating off the floor and strange shadowy figures that roam the halls of an old opera house. Many of the cases are from his TV show “Haunted Niagara”. He discusses haunted forests and the stories behind such scary places in nature.

I guess I believe in ghosts. I also believe many ghost stories get embellished as time goes on, therefore I remain skeptical about paranormal activity. Peter Sacco shares these half dozen or so stories and lets the reader decide if they are true. He doesn’t tell you they happened, he just presents the stories and for that I am grateful. There are witness to most of these tales…or facts, you decide. If they happened then it is pretty darned scary.

I love a good ghost story so the short narratives in Peter Sacco’s “Niagara’s Most Haunted” were certainly entertaining and fun to read for me. If you are a true believer in paranormal activity the stories may be horrifying and alarming causing you to lose sleep thinking about the other worlds that may run parallel with our own. Perhaps I am tempting the demons and ghouls from beyond the grave by saying I am not sure they are real, but I am sure they understand my doubt if indeed they are real.

At the end of the day “Niagara’s Most Haunted” is a quick and interesting read for a guy like. It is a must read if you are at all fascinated about the subject of paranormal investigations. My depth of knowledge with paranormal activity is the movie Ghostbusters so I make no claims of being an expert. Check it out if you’d like using the links below.

Rating: 6.5/10 – I aint afraid of no ghost.
