“Amy Kidd, Zombie Speech Pathologist” – HORROR WEB SERIES REVIEW

Zombies are people too. Well, at least they used to be people, but let’s not get into semantics. Yes I am keenly aware that they walk annoyingly slow, moan a lot and eat human brains, but you really can’t hold that against all of them, they just don’t know any better. Some zombies, in fact, are reaching out for help trying to improve their social status in this world that can often be cruel and un-accepting of anyone…or anything…that is different. This is where “Amy Kidd, Zombie Speech Pathologist” steps in. “Amy Kidd, Zombie Speech Pathologist” is a new, 11 part, comedy-zombie web series that takes a fun look at what would happen if we helped zombies instead of ran from them.

Dr. Amy Kidd, played by Audrey Noone, is a Speech Pathologist who has decided to take the higher road than most non-zombie folks and offer her speech services to help these wandering dead communicate with the living. On the pilot episode Dr. Kidd nervously prepares her office for her first ever zombie client Arnie, played by Chris Estes, by putting plastic on the couch to protect it from stray guts and by making sure her zombie repellant is close at hand. What will happen when her client enters the office? Does this zombie truly want help with his speech or will his one track mind only focus on his lustful need for brains? Find out in the pilot episode of “Amy Kidd, Zombie Speech Pathologist”

I truly enjoyed the humor of this pilot episode and look forward to checking out the remaining 10 as they are produced. It is a cleverly written web series poking fun at the very frightening subject of zombies that live and work among us but are unable to communicate with the living. It is shot really well and has the feel of a TV sitcom which I loved. The pilot comes in at just over 8 minutes so you can enjoy it at your leisure, and I recommend you do, especially if you love all things zombie. Rating: 8/10 – “Liking this zombie web series is a no-brainer”

The Awakening (2011) – GHOST/MYSTERY HORROR MOVIE REVIEW

By Geno McGahee This film was an impulse buy. I saw all of the quotes from different reviewers that they plastered on the DVD case and it was being called “terrifying” by everyone on the case. It had to be right…right? This film should have had me running out of […]
