Time Walker (1982) – Movie Review

There are a lot of people convinced that aliens made the pyramids in Egypt, and the connection between aliens and Egypt has never really been touched upon in horror until I saw TIME WALKER, a film about an alien mummy.

A mummy is brought to a college campus to be researched by Professor McCadden (Ben Murphy), and upon opening the tomb, he realizes that there is something different. His obnoxious assistant, Peter (Kevin Brophy) finds a secret compartment in the tomb and discovers some crystals. When he attempts to sell them, he finds out that they are worthless, which brings him to plan B. He gives them out to women to impress them.

The mummy goes missing and the assumption is that somebody stole it, but Time Walker has risen and is going on a killing spree. Anyone that possesses one of his crystals or gets in his way will die. The race is on to get Time Walker all of his crystals to save lives.

The college administration has placed the entire blame on McCadden, believing that he stole the mummy, but when they all gather at the college and encounter the Time Walker, all hell breaks loose. The alien mummy was all about love and his crystals, and McCadden tries to make contact directly when security begins opening fire, tagging the professor in the process.

The ending is a strange one that ends with a “To Be Continued” but there was never another Time Walker that I know of. The alien takes McCadden with him into outer space, possibly for his sexual petting zoo. I have the feeling that after being boxed up for hundreds of years, Time Walker was incredibly horny and he wanted to bone the professor.

TIME WALKER is a fun movie. It reminded me of GALAXY INVADER, but with a much higher production value and no rednecks. I recommend it.

Scared Stiff Rating: 7/10.
