Thunder Rosa has finally won gold in AWA with a brutal victory inside a steel cage over Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. It wasn’t a huge shock that Rosa finally took it home. She’s one of the best female wrestlers in the game and her feud with Baker has been amazing.
The match looked stiff and there have been rumors that these two aren’t the best of friends behind the scenes. It didn’t take very long for both to be bleeding and the chairs and thumbtacks weren’t far behind.
From the opening bell, Rosa controlled the action, but the dirty tactics of the defending champion started to pay dividends. Baker really utilized steel chairs to get an advantage and nearly get a pin. She then tried to apply her finisher but it was blocked.
The end of the match would come from a Rosa power bomb onto thumbtacks, followed by her finisher, getting the 1-2-3 and getting the title. I think their feud is over for now and Rosa will go on to take on other challengers before coming back to face the dentist.
