Christmas time is a wonderful season. It is a time to enjoy family, friends and good times. Listening to Christmas music by the tree, fireplace or just as you go about your day is a favorite pastime of many people including myself. Gary Hanson, creator of CreationScapes, has added a new touch to enjoying Christmas music with his latest holiday program “The Spirit of Christmas”.

CreationScapes, quite simply, are videos set to music. Gary has created dozens of these montage videos. He travels to spots most of us can only dream about and shoots stunning video from all around North America. I have seen Gary’s work in the past and loved it so I already knew I would enjoy his latest Christmas endeavor titled “The Spirit of Christmas”. It is loaded with video of mountains, snow covered trees, Christmas trees and decorations. The photography of the mountains is surreal as I’ve never been to these places. I found myself studying each picture picking out the details of the trees high up in the snow line. The close up shots of snow covered branches was just as intriguing. I watched the BluRay version so every detail of the ice crystals was visible on each branch.

There are some really nice time lapse shots of clouds traveling up and over mountains that I found fascinating. By speeding up the footage you can actually see how fluid the clouds look as they travel across these majestic monoliths jutting out of the Earth. There are also many shots of the Bavarian town of Leavenworth all decked out in its best holiday lighting.

The entire program is set to traditional Christmas songs by artists such as Tim Janis, Michelle Moyer, Amy Petty, Emily Bear and Hal Ketchum. The music is relaxing and goes perfectly with the picture. The disc automatically loops so that you can leave it running in the background as you go about your business. You can add your own personal touch if you choose by turning down the music on the disc and playing your favorite tunes while the images blend across your TV screen.

If you love Christmas then you will be wild about this latest Christmas program from CreationScapes. It’s available on DVD and BluRay.

Rating: 9/10 – “A Christmas present for your senses”

The Possession (2012) – Horror Movie Review

By Melissa Antoinette Garza   I had avoided this film for quite some time.  I saw the preview for it and thought it looked quite absurd.  The trailer showed the young child who was possessed open her mouth to reveal two fingers in the back of her throat.  I remember […]
