Astronaut Steve West (Alex Rebar) is on a trip to Saturn, but something goes terribly wrong. Two of the astronauts perish, leaving West alive, but in horrible shape. His skin is melting off of his body, but thankfully he is tied to a hospital bed and can cause no trouble…well, they didn’t account for his super strength. He easily broke through the restraints and now the killing spree has begun.

One poor nurse was a victim. The heavy-set lady ran for her life, jumped through a glass door, but the melting man, who is incredible, caught up with her and ripped off her face. His mind is deteriorated and there are only small pieces left of what he once was. All he knows is: KILL!

There were plenty of characters brought in briefly, just to be victims. There was a fisherman, an old couple, a young couple, and then there was a surprising survivor. There was a near rapist photographer that survived the film. Where were you melting man? Where were you?! Let’s see him try to rape the melting man and see what happens. Sure, he’s a big man when he is raping a woman…but a melting man? It’s not going to happen. It was a disappointment that he allowed the pervert to survive.

The only person that wants to save the melting man is his old friend, Dr. Ted Nelson (Burr Debenning). He is on the case and is following the trail of dead bodies. Although the melting man is basically a killing machine, there is some of Steve West left in him and that’s the part that Nelson wants to reach. In fact, he doesn’t seem overly concerned about the deceased. He wasn’t bothered by the butchered corpse of his mother-in-law. He only wants to reach Steve.

Sheriff Neil Blake (Michael Alldredge) demands answers from Nelson and, off the record, he lets him know about the melting man. The two go out in search of him, but they should have come up with a united plan, because it blows up in their face in the end…leading to some very amusing death scenes.

THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN gets a lot of bad reviews…nearly exclusively bad reviews, but I am not going to spread these lies. This is a fantastic movie. The ending is hilarious, the movie is great from start to finish and it features a memorable killer. If you like zombies or monsters and you have a sense of humor, you will thoroughly enjoy this. I can’t recommend this enough. It’s incredible…just as the title advertises.

Scared Stiff Rating: 8/10
