Other than seeing clips of TRIUMPH OF THE WILL (1934) in documentaries, I never watched a Nazi propaganda film. I knew Nazis were horrible, I knew Hitler was the devil incarnate and I knew about the horrors of the Holocaust. So, I never saw a reason to watch a movie produced and created by sociopathic lunatics.
That changed when people started throwing around the name Hitler as an adjective or an insult. The brilliant Jon Stewart once reiterated this point on THE DAILY SHOW. He said to refrain from calling people you dislike ‘Hitler’. Other “comedians,” celebrities, and news anchors continue to make the comparison. Sarah Silverman, Carmen Aristegui, Jim Jeffries and JK Rowling are just a few of the examples.
Now, this isn’t going to be an article praising Donald Trump. People have compared Hitler to George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Vladmir Putin, just to name a few. Unfortunately, Generation X and millennials have seemingly forgotten that Adolf Hitler was REAL. He’s not a fictional villain that can be thrown around for fun. He’s directly responsible for the torture and death of up to 20 MILLION people! Those are only the casualties ofthe Holocaust. It isn’t counting the soldiers who died fighting the Nazi party.
I try to hold myself to the same standard that I expect others to hold themselves to. Therefore, I decided to learn something I didn’t know about the Nazis. I’ve seen SCHINDLER’S LIST (1993) and I’ve even read the insanity of Mein Kampf, but THE ETERNAL JEW (1940) was new to me.
The film was directed by Fritz Hippler, who despite running the Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda of the Third Reich under Joseph Goebbels, only served two years in prison for his involvement. He even underwent mountain infantry training and was sent to an infantry replacement battalion after a slight disagreement with Goebbels. Unfortunately, this douche-bag lived until 2002 and died at the ripe age of 92! Why do the worst people seem to live the longest?
I found a copy of THE ETERNAL JEW subtitled on YOUTUBE. Of course, it claims to be a documentary! It’s not. The filmmakers put on a show displaying Jewish men, women and children as plights on society and as parasites. It was recorded in Poland during the German/Nazi occupation therefore I’m sure those who ‘participated’ did not do so of their own volition.
Unsurprisingly, it’s bat-shit crazy, evil, twisted and demented. It literally equates the Jewish people to the infestation of rats. It paints the Jewish people as lazy, greedy and inhuman. It depicts a Jewish family who is wealthy yet has cockroaches in their home. It depicts their religion and the scriptures of the Torah as deceitful, methodical and anti-Aryan. The practice of shechita is shown as barbaric and painful rather than the humane manner of slaughtering animals that it is.
The entire piece of trash is a hit piece designed to reinforce a belief in the German people that the actions the Nazi army had taken against the Jewish citizens was necessary and deserved. Of course, it’s all blatant lies and disgusting propaganda.
I wish people really studied the horrific practices of the Nazi party. I want them to know the terrifyingly brutal torture that the victims suffered so they don’t make blanket ridiculous comparisons. I wonder how many people who throw around Hitler’s name, knows Josef Mengele and what he’s done.
The human experiments of removing limbs and reattaching them. He was provided grants to pursue his research on twins and people with genetic abnormalities or anomalies. He even established a kindergarten where children as young as six underwent sadistic and near demonic experiments. He even went as far as to sew the twin girls back-to-back attempting to create conjoined twins. The poor girls died less than a week later of gangrene.
If that weren’t enough he led men, women and children to the gas chambers. He was responsible for so many murders and the agony of so many innocent people.
I hope those who read this and use Godwin’s Law in everyday conversation gain at least one piece of insight. Don’t label someone you politically disagree with as a Nazi or as Hitler. It’s not only counterproductive, but it makes light of a tragedy that needs to be remembered as it was. Hitler wasn’t a guy who said things people didn’t like or tweeted insensitive remarks. He isn’t remembered because of his economic plan, his thoughts on energy or the environment.
The Nazis sure as hell don’t receive credit for their accomplishments, and they shouldn’t! We actively try to forget the Nazis created the Volkswagen, orange Fanta soda and methadone. We don’t discuss Konrad Zuse’s part in creating the modern computer. We’re fine just talking about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates!
Even the scientific community wanted to keep the helpful data they collected from the Nazi experiments on Jewish people, Gypsies and enemy soldiers a secret; and I’m fine with that too! Let our medical experts and scientists take credit for it! Hell, let Bill Nye take the credit for it! I don’t care because the point is, Hitler and the Nazi party need only to be remembered for the torture, suffering and extermination of up to 20 MILLION PEOPLE! They only need to be remembered as the epitome of evil. They only need to be remembered so we never allow anything like the Holocaust to happen again!
Saying things like Orange Hitler, or Hitlery (Hillary Clinton) is disrespectful to those who were tormented, maimed and killed. It’s contemptuous to the survivors who were saved or who escaped.
I don’t care if you dislike our president or if you dislike Hillary. As Jon Stewart said, “When you compare someone to Hitler, you lose credibility…please stop calling people Hitler when you disagree with them…..You know who was Hitler? Hitler!”
I’m not going to rate THE ETERNAL JEW. I’m shocked it received a 4.9 on IMDB and a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. I can’t in good conscious rate a movie that when released increased the approval of the Holocaust and diminished the Jewish faith and the Jewish people in such an evil manner.
