The Elite VS The Inner Circle: Stadium Stampede Match – AEW Heavyweight Title Match – AEW DOUBLE OR NOTHING RESULTS & REVIEW – Pro Wrestling News

Here we go.  The Stadium Stampede match, taking place in a football stadium and each of the Inner Circle are dressed as football players.  Big props to Ortiz for doing his tiger claw pose on his introduction.  He can’t do that enough.

The Elite comes out, minus Hangman Page.  A wrestling ring sits in the middle of the stadium.  It’s nice to see Hardy and Jericho finally go at it.  Page finally shows up on horseback and chases poor Sammy Guevara down.  Sammy is hilarious.  He learned his lesson.  He was hit by a golf cart a couple weeks ago by Matt Hardy…he won’t be trampled by a horse.

Much of the action is happening inside the ring.  Hardy lands the side effect on Jake Hager.  Guevara runs back to the ring to the chant of “Sammy” by the Inner Circle and cheerleaders that are there. Poor Sammy is constantly getting his ass kicked.

This is a very unusual match, but this is AEW and this is coronavirus/no audience times, and new stuff has to be tried to see how it works and it’s not doing too badly.

Matt Jackson climbs up to the goal post and does a moonsault onto the Inner Circle, leading to a near fall.  The groups move to the stadium seating and begin fighting it out.  Page is still riding his horse, looking for Guevara.  Page hasn’t had much to do with this match and is now headed for the bar.

Ortiz and Santana put Omega through a metal table with a huge powerbomb.   They throw Hardy into the water and begin dunking him as he changes from one version to another.  It was great and I felt bad for Ortiz, who couldn’t swim.  He panicked in 3 feet of water.  It was hilarious.  I love Ortiz.

In one of the best moments ever, Hardy rang a large bell in Ortiz’s ears and it sent him into full shock.   He then convulsed in a wheelchair.  Ortiz begins rolling away.  It’s so funny.  Hardy and Ortize are a match made in wrestling heaven.

Hager begins searching for Page backstage and finds him drinking at the bar.   Hager pulls up a seat and drinks beside Page, but it turns into a fight quickly.  Hager slams Page down onto a pool table and then slides him across the bar, into every drink that was sitting there.

Omega and Page start breaking a bunch of bottles of champagne over his head.   He is getting more stunned with every shot he takes.  There is just chaos everywhere as the Young Bucks take on Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho.

Matt Jackson super kicks Jericho through a net as he does a witch impression with a traffic cone on his head.  “It’s good,” Jackson screams.  It’s great stuff!

Somehow, football rules are in play here and flags are on the play.   We get one for excessive celebration, which leads to the ref getting the super kick from the young bucks.  This is just so fucking over the top and insane, but it’s very entertaining.

Oh no!  Sammy Guevara has to face the golf cart again!   Thank god.  Guevara jumps to safety.  He keeps screaming “leave me alone” as Hardy, Page and Omega chase him down.  NEO 1, the replacement for the destroyed Vanguard 1, debuts.

A one winged angel from the stands to the floor by Omega to Guevara leads to a 1-2-3 and an end to this madness.
