Now available on Digital, On Demand, Blu-Ray and DVD from Lionsgate, THE DOORMAN is an action film with plenty of action that turned out to be a fun ride from start to finish.

In 1988, DIE HARD was released and changed the action genre, inspiring films for years to come and it’s still happening now.  The new film “THE DOORMAN”, featuring Ruby Rose in the role of “Ali”, brings the DIE HARD feel with plenty of its own charm to this film.

Ali, a former Marine, turned doorman at a high rise in New York, encounters some ruthless terrorists that are there to steal some things, much like Hans Gruber and his group of thugs.   Rose is really good as the hero in this and has some very good lines that she delivers well.

Victor (Jean Reno) is a sophisticated guy that likes the better things in life.  He is also a ruthless killer and criminal and his battle with Ali in this gets better as the movie goes forward and the fight becomes personal when Ali’s family is threatened, leading to a more emotional approach that Ruby Rose performs incredibly well.   Reno and Rose really work well off of each other.

THE DOORMAN is a really good film and if you love DIE HARD, which I do, you’ll like this.  The cast did very well and it was paced well.  It’s just a good film and I recommend it.
