There was a time when only in person treatment was the only option for those seeking a therapy session.  Times have changed and now there are various options for those outside of driving to an office.  In the time of the Coronavirus and the restrictions placed upon society, the options are even less but there is one way that people are going and it’s proven even more effective than a face to face therapy session and that is phone therapy.

Phone counseling has become the go to option recently.   The coronavirus has hit the United States and the advisories have been given to the public to stay inside their home unless they are essential employees or if there is a necessity that they need to pick up.   This has left many at home, every day, with a level of uncertainty for the future.

Recent research has shown that cognitive behavioral therapy, a type of talk therapy, can be done over the phone or Facetime and that the results are the same or even better at times.  Along with being a proven effective method for therapy, phone counseling is very affordable and that has drawn even more people to it.

Although the focus usually is on those seeking therapy, phone counseling has also attracted the best therapists in the world, giving them the ability to reach a lot more people and to also be a lot more accessible.  This two-way street provides treatment to those in need at any time and solidifies the relationship between the therapist and patient, which helps with the communication and solutions.

With twenty percent of Americans needing counsel at some time or another, phone counseling continues to grow in popularity.  The percentage of those seeking it out in these current times has grown even more.  Recent reports of the coronavirus fears and stay at home orders raising stress, anxiety, depression and more continue to come in with regularity and there are therapists ready to help and keep everyone in good spirits as we all make it through these tough times.

The coronavirus isn’t the only matter that is causing stress and anxiety in these modern times.  Military veterans have found out that phone counseling was their best way to overcome their PTSD, staying within the comfort of their homes with a professional that understands exactly what they need and how to find the road to a better place.

Over the next few years, expert have suggested that phone counseling will be the most popular therapy in the world and it’s easy to see why.
