Corey (Drew Van Acker) is the world’s best spy, always on top of his game and never missing a bad guy. They chase him down and he is able to dodge and kill off the assassins without them even seeing where he was in the first place. His life is very set in the world of his job, completely engulfed in it. He is the top spy and he is happy being that, but things change dramatically when he meets Pam (Poppy Delevingne).
While sprinting after the bad guy, Corey literally runs into Pam and he falls for her immediately. As they date, he starts to see the other side of life and the appeal of family life. Soon, he’s shopping at department stores, avoiding adventure for a date night with the love of his life and that does not bode well for his best friend, Smuts (Blake Anderson).
Smuts, after witnessing the new life of his best friend, puts together a spy intervention with the hopes that he will return to his glory days. Corey walks away conflicted and eventually returns to the game, turning his wife into a spy when she suspects that he’s having an affair on her.
The closer that Pam gets to Corey’s secret life, the more dangerous it gets and she eventually gets pulled into a room with a group of bad guys, holding them at gunpoint. When Pam realizes that she’s been lied to the entire time, she promises divorce, but the bad guys have to be contended with first.
This film reminded me a lot of TRUE LIES and is a really fun watch with some witty banter and good performances with a fun conclusion. SPY INTERVENTION is now on DVD, VOD and Digital from Cinedigm and is definitely worth a watch. I recommend it!
