Lionsgate just released a double feature on DVD and Digital. SEA LEVEL and SEA LEVEL 2: MAGIC ARCH is now out, bringing two great features for children.
In the original SEA LEVEL, we have the adventure of Pup that goes underwater and on land and have a memorable villain in Julius, a shark that has some negative encounters with humanity, leading to his own side adventure and character evolution. Julius ends up flipping the script and becoming a helpful force in the journey that Pup is taking. The animation isn’t on the same level of FINDIN NEMO, but there is enough substance here for children to enjoy.
In SEA LEVEL 2: MAGIC ARCH, Delphi the dolphin is on his own with his best friend, Zeb, to find his way to Fish Town. The discovery of the magic arch gives them the opportunity to transform into whatever they wanted to be and this opens up the story to several different routes. Much like the first, there are some bad guys that the duo has to deal with and the focus is on that powerful arch that they discovered.
The sequel has come a long way since the original. The animation and storyteller is better in this one and the characters are more developed and go through a deeper evolution. This set of films is very good for kids and my daughter liked them both. I recommend this set! The first film is good and the sequel is much better. I’m sure they will go over well with the majority of kids.
