Lionsgate has released the family/coming of age movie “SAVING SLOANE” to Digital, On Demand and DVD. It tackles the troubles that young teens might have as they grow up and focuses on one teen in particular, Sloane.
Sloane is in high school and is getting into some trouble. With the negative influence of her boyfriend, she starts to have all sorts of issues, including drinking. Her parents need to get away and don’t want to leave their troubled daughter by herself and instead send her to a ranch and that’s when this movie really gets going.
On the ranch, Sloane meets Glory, a horse that also misbehaves. I don’t think he drinks though. Glory is being sold because nobody can ride him and he is of no use to the ranch, but a bond is made and things start to come into focus for Sloane and she now has a quest. She wants to prove that Glory is salvageable and doesn’t need to be sold.
Sloane finds her own footing with her mission and begins to mature as she helps the horse find his way. This is absolutely a family film and it’s not a bad one either. It’s very straight forward but effective and I recommend it. The cast did a great job and it’s a good overall production and story.
