In a middleweight 6 rounder, Quatavious Cash, 12-2, 7 KO’s, takes on Calvin Metcalf, 10-4-1, 3 KO’s. The strength of Cash is immediately apparent as he fends off the game Metcalf. Although he’s not dominant, it’s obvious that he’s throwing the harder punches and doing more damage.
In round 2, MetCalf has a pretty good cut on the left eye from a clash of heads and the blood is flowing. The fight is very ugly. There is a lot of clinching and grappling. Cash is trying to get some distance, but he’s not having much success.
The blood continues to flow in this ugly encounter. If there was a crowd, they’d be booing at this point. The arm punches from Metcalf are doing no damage whatsoever. His pushing and grappling along with the lack of separation from Cash is giving him opportunities to stay in this fight. Just a bad fight here.
I wonder why Cash just doesn’t walk through Metcalf and his arm punches. This is just a filler fight for ESPN to take up some time. What a terrible spectacle. In round 6, the fight was stopped due to the cut on the eye of Metcalf and we go to the cards, leading to the technical decision win for Cash by scores of 60-54, 60-55 and 59-55.
