Warner Bros Home Entertainment has just recently released the second season of PENNYWORTH on both DVD and Blu-ray. Coming off the incredible first season, the second season holds strong with a dark and gritty approach to filmmaking and is a binge-worthy experience that hits the viewer hard with substance and style.
Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon) is back and running a nightclub where he is manipulating both sides of the current conflict. The civil war in the UK is getting worse and Pennyworth is adjusting and picking his spots as the series carries on. The drama is very high and only London really remains as the rest of the country is in ruins.
Pennyworth as the title character is amazing and his continued reactions to the world around him. His demeanor in this is great and I found some amusing moments but the show has a very serious tone that was shot incredibly well. The look and presentation of this show is very impressive and the cast is solid.
PENNYWORTH: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON is a great follow-up to the first and is just as enjoyable. Jack Bannon is outstanding in the lead role and the civil war backdrop maintained this aura of uncertainty as you watch the show. I highly recommend this show. It was a great watch from start to finish and was about as stylish and cool as it gets.
