In a very slow and dull fight, Patrick Teixeira, 30-1, 22 KO’s, outworked Mario Lozano, 33-9, 24 KO’s, over ten rounds to take the majority decision by scores of 95-95 and 96-94 (twice). The fight wasn’t much of one as the two fighters posed most of the time and backed away from any action. Teixeira tried to control it with the jab but he couldn’t find a home for it. Lozano tried to pick his spots but he didn’t pick many of them and gave away the first half of the fight.
In the last half of the fight, Lozano came on and took over, but still couldn’t do much damage. The crowd applauded at the end, happy the fight was over.
