It’s time for the main event and I cannot wait. Orange Cassidy comes to the ring with the Best Friends, but sends them back. He’s going it alone. Chris Jericho comes out with Santana and Ortiz, both toting gallons of orange juice, sending the message to Cassidy.
It’s great how Jericho gets irritated with some specific wresters like Cassidy and Pineapple Pete. Maybe it’s a fruit thing.
Cassidy takes advantage immediately with a head butt and dropkick. He is bringing the fight to the former AEW champion. This is a serious effort by Cassidy. He wants to win this match.
Jericho finds the lion tamer quickly with a counter, but Cassidy makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Ortiz gets a cheap shot in. Jericho starts putting the punishment on with suplexes and is taking his time to mock Cassidy in between the moves.
Cassidy is taking a serious beating and it’s not looking good, but you can’t count him out. He won’t give up easily and is still in the match despite the beating. Jericho puts an abdominal stretch on Cassidy but it’s broken when Aubrey Edwards sees him holding the ropes for leverage. It gives Cassidy a chance to fight back, but it doesn’t last long. He’s having a hard time getting any momentum.
Cassidy finally finds his footing, using his speed to get things done. He lands a super kick to get a near fall. This is such a great match! I love Jericho, but damn, I’m rooting for Cassidy! He lands a splash from the top rope for a near fall! This is an amazing match!
Jericho gets Cassidy in another counter, leading to another lion tamer. He reverses into a small package and then a superman punch. Santana throws some OJ in the face of Cassidy, blinding him. Jericho lands the code breaker and a baseball bat to get a 2 count. This is high drama!
Cassidy is landing great move after great move and we are seeing near fall after near fall. What excitement! Jericho lands the Judas Effect out of nowhere to get the 3 count, but what a fight!
