Three major productions have just been announced by production company Cineridge Entertainment. Three horror features filming in the near future have been approved for production and will begin filming very soon. CINEMA EPOCH, a company that has received a lot of praise from the horror community for its Scared Stiff Collection that was released on DVD along with various digital outlets, will handle the distribution of these titles. The Producer, Gregory Hatanaka (MAD COWGIRL), had a big hit recently with SAMURAI COP 2: DEADLY VENGEANCE, a follow up to the 1991 cult classic. He now turns his attention to darker places. Hatanaka will also be directing AMERICAN MOBSTER: RETRIBUTION as well, bringing yet another great title to the audiences.
RISE OF THE SCARECROWS: HELL ON EARTH is a sequel to the 2003 film “RISE OF THE SCARECROWS”, bringing New England filmmaker Geno McGahee (XPOSSE PRODUCTIONS) back to his roots. RISE OF THE SCARECROWS became a highly successful micro budget horror film. A recent re-release of the title proved immensely successful, proving that the title still had life in it and led to the decision that RISE OF THE SCARECROWS: HELL ON EARTH would be filmed. McGahee noted that “this follow-up will be a sharp and scary production but I will not forget about why I’m making it. I think that this will impress the horror fans and satisfy the fans of the first. It’ll be nice to have the scarecrows back.”
Thomas Bangert (VIGILANTE DIARIES, SAMURAI CO 2: DEADLY VENGEANCE) will be directing EVIL FLESH: an exciting 70’s style horror film concerning a town that is being taken over by an unknown force. The story has some of the elements of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS but is bringing a darker approach. EVIL FLESH is already highly anticipated and has been stirring up a buzz within the horror community.
The third title HOLY TERROR, directed by Rich Mallery (SOCIOPATHIA, SAMURAI COP 2: DEADLY VENGEANCE), is a film that is a throwback to the 1970’s horror films like ROSEMARY’S BABY and THE OMEN, but will bring its own spin. In recent times, films like THE CONJURING and INSIDIOUS have changed the tide of the paranormal sub-genre, steering it away from the found footage approach. HOLY TERROR will be bringing a terrifying paranormal possession film to the horror fans in the way that they want. It will be a mix of the old and the new.
