I’m a fan of murder mysteries and have seen quite a few. MURDER MADE EASY, from writer/director David Palamaro, is a murder mystery that has strong characters, decent acting and a few shockers along the way that makes this film really work well.. The Blu-Ray has just been released and I had the opportunity to check it out.
Joan (Jessica Graham) and Michael (Christopher Soren Kelly) are having a dinner party and have some sinister plans. They invite the pompous, Marcus (Edmund Lupinski) over I think everyone knows somebody like this. He’s patronizing and full of himself. The dialogue is very good at the table as the three people converse and the acting is solid and relatable. I got a feeling that Palamaro is basing a lot of these characters on people he knows, and if that’s the case, we must know the same people.
One of the most annoying characters is Cricket (Emilia Richeson), a nut that can’t shut up about the one percent and how terrible society is. It was very easy to sit back and wait for her to be taken out. She was ready to give her opinion even if you didn’t want it.
The movie goes along, following the same pattern, with Joan and Michael keep moving forward with their plan to take out the guests. Joan is consumed with anger over the death of her husband and has linked the guests to him in one way or another. She is manipulative and plays the people very well.
As the bodies pile up, we get some twists and turns and you have to expect that with a murder mystery. MURDER MADE EASY is a very decent flick that any fan of a murder mystery will enjoy. I recommend it. It checks all the boxes and, if you’re a fan of the classic murder mysteries, this one will be a good watch.
